Kristina Aiad-Toss

Kristina Aiad-Toss, J.D. graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and has an LLM at Middlesex University in London. Kristina is currently an Associate Attorney at Babin Law, LLC representing human trafficking survivors in federal litigation against corporate hotel defendants. Kristina also serves as the Secretary of the Board of The S.O.A.P. Project, a national organization strengthening access to rescue operations to survivors trafficked in hotels.  Kristina is also currently working with the Access to Remedy Institute at the American Bar Association’s Center for Human Rights, which strengthens access to grievance mechanisms for victims of corporate human rights abuses.

While in law school, Kristina published a paper on US Involvement in war crimes and human rights violations during the Civil War in El Salvador and has worked on various human rights topics, including: child and slave labor in the Ivory Coast chocolate industry, human and environmental rights affected by development projects funded by international banking institutions, sustainable land use in Myanmar, labor and environmental rights in Peru, crimes against humanity in Yemen, and the Israeli occupation of Palestine in Ramallah.

She has worked for different NGO’s including Human Rights Watch, Accountability Counsel, International Partners in Mission, Landesa, the Association for the Sustainable Development of Peru – CITEPAPA, and Al-Haq. Kristina also worked on corporate and civil cases at various law firms and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. Kristina was Co-Captain of the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot court team.  She previously studied International Politics and Spanish, at the University of Akron. While in college, Kristina worked under a member of parliament in Toronto, and at the US Mission to the UN Agencies in Rome for the Department of State.

In addition to her academic and professional pursuits, Kristina is a photographer and painter and enjoys traveling, hiking, live music, and yoga.
